New cookbook
Santa brought me this cookbook and it's turning out to be a winner. Every recipe I've made so far is a hit. And the best part is each recipe gives you a breakdown of the calories, fat, protein and carb count you are eating.

Currently reading
Santa brought me this book and I'm enjoying it so far. No mention of butter or sugar and it keeps me from thinking about all the holiday food I've enjoyed! (I'm looking at you Meredith and your crafty treats!)

Currently reading
Started this book last night. Yes, I am still successfully avoiding those toddler discipline books. So far this one is hilarious...and a very easy read. Way more fun than reading about toddler behavior.

Rising strong
This is my current read and I am REALLY enjoying it. Rising Strong is all about embracing our mistakes and getting back up...very inspiring. It's very self help oriented so if that's not your bag then this is not for you.

Yum!
In an effort to fill the void of the book My Life In France, I picked up this new book- Voraciois by Cara Nicoletti. It's a take on recipes from famous books...from Little House on the Prairie to Emma. It's lots of fun to read and it's not short on butter or sugar!

The girl in the spider's web
I just finished My Life in France last night and I was very sad everything had to come to an end. I truly enjoyed it. However, the UPS man came today delivering this book and I'm very excited.

Butter, Wine and a Side of Chocolate
I'm reading a couple of books right now - one is all about toddler behavior and how to manage it, and this book - My Life In France. I bet you can guess which one is more interesting. The toddler book is necessary and helpful - but Julia Child in Paris is WAY more fun. The problem is I'm "clean and sober" on dairy and alcohol until Labor Day. (Sidebar: This is a choice I made over Memorial Day weekend in an effort to try to get back to my post baby self.) In almost EVERY chapter so far Julia describes in detail how amazing all the French food is...and it ALL has butter and wine. Tons. I love butter and I love wine and regardless of going almost three months without it - I still love it. I still crave it. I still desire it. (Sidebar: You know all those people who tell you if you stop eating certain foods for awhile you'll stop craving them? Liars.) I'm loving this read but it's torture. Last night I dreamt of chocolate croissants. Not kidding.
